hello!

I wrote a nice little story about how I was getting on to post yesterday then the computer failed me and it all disappeared, so here goes, again!

Tomorrow is my last day of proper training, last language class as now we are all fantastic at Wollof, well I can manage the greetings. The final week of training is a trip up-country, where a lot of the group I have been training with will be living. I'm treating this week as a little holiday before I start work proper.

I'm settling into my house now, I like the cats now as they keep any mice away which is a bonus and I only have a mother and kitten on my porch now, the kitten is quite cute, although it looks quite rough already! My neighbours are all really nice and tomorrow I think there will be a naming ceremony in my street as my neighbour had a baby last week, so I'm looking forward to the party!

I've unpacked everything now and I only have a few more things to buy for the house, all related to cleaning so I'm not in too much of a hurry for them! I also made a nice things shopping list but unfortuneately I've spent all the money VSO gave me as my initial allowance. We should get paid again soon, I hope.

Well I'm off to a reception at the British High Commission now, no rest in this training programme!
